Today we are going to talk about the best time for maternity photography session.
Finding out you are expecting a child and watching your body change as your baby grows inside of you is a truly magical experience. As your belly gets bigger so does the excitement that you feel as your due date comes closer. And before you know it, you will be preparing to welcome your little one in to the world. You’ll be buying little clothes, setting up the baby room, reading up on parenting books and packing your hospital bag. And just like that your whole life will all be about this little person 🙂
The pregnancy is such unique and amazing time in a woman’s life that I recommend to all mom’s to take the time to cherish it and to enjoy it. Many of our clients start journaling their experiences and ultimately complimenting it with professionally taken maternity photographs. A maternity photography session is a beautiful way to document your motherhood journey and to capture your story and experiences. This is something that you will certainly enjoy today and also for years to come as you are going to look back at this time in your life.

Not sure when is the best time to do you maternity photography session? Here are a few tips on the right time to show off your beautiful belly.
We always say, the best time for maternity session is when you feel good and still have plenty of energy. In most cases this is between 30-36 weeks. During this period, your belly will start to be more round, but not too big where it starts dropping.
Ultimately the start of your 3rd trimester is the perfect time for a maternity photoshoot. While it is never too early, you may run the risk of an early baby arrival if you leave it off for later part of the pregnancy. Not to mention that you’ll be likely to be more tired and uncomfortable. We definitely had some past clients that missed out capturing their pregnancy due to the baby arriving early.
While these guidelines work for most pregnancies, you probably heard that every pregnancy is different, even if it is your 3rd or 4th pregnancy. So paying close attention to your body, how it changes and ultimately how you feel is key.
Also, timeline is slightly different if you are expecting twins or triplets. If you are blessed with twins, we highly recommend doing your maternity session around weeks 20-24 so you are comfortable. Most such pregnancies will deliver earlier, so definitely don’t procrastinate.
At the end maternity photo sessions are all about capturing life, it’s about capturing love and connection. And that is what we are really good at. So if you are ready to schedule your session today or simply have some questions, click here to contact us.
